Why Infill is Needed for Artificial Turf
Artificial turf surfaces are smoother than natural turf, especially during rain. Proper infill granule application provides greater friction and creates a foot feel closer to natural turf, significantly improving field performance.
Filling granules and quartz sand compact artificial grass and stabilize the turf. Typically, quartz sand serves as the lower layer while infill granules form the upper layer.
Since artificial turf lacks soil, collisions or falls result in greater body stress and increased injury risk. Adding appropriate amounts of highly elastic filler particles effectively simulates soil feel and prevents injuries during field contact.
