Crusher custom large module bevel gear high quality steel casting large bevel gear
Straight bevel gears are mechanical transmission components designed for power transmission between two intersecting shafts. Their teeth are linear in shape, distributed along a conical surface, and facilitate the transfer of power at a spatial angle (typically 90°). The following is a structured description of their core characteristics:
I. Structure and Working Principle
Tooth Profile Characteristics: The gear teeth are linear in form, extending along the generatrices of the cone; the tooth surfaces are planar and feature no curvature correction.
Meshing Mode: The tooth surfaces engage via point contact. Consequently, transmission involves relatively high impact forces, making these gears suitable for low-speed and light-load operating conditions.
Axis Relationship: The input and output shafts intersect. While a common intersection angle is 90°, this angle can be adjusted to other values based on specific design requirements.
II. Performance Advantages
Ease of Manufacturing: These gears do not require complex surface-machining equipment; they can be produced using simple form milling or hobbing processes, making them well-suited for small-to-medium batch production.
Ease of Installation and Maintenance: Featuring a compact structure, these gears have relatively lenient requirements for installation alignment, resulting in low costs for commissioning and replacement.
High Cost-Effectiveness: Material and processing costs are significantly lower than those of spiral bevel gears, making them the preferred choice for economical transmission solutions.
III. Materials and Heat Treatment
Material Types: The vast majority of the straight bevel gears produced by our company are utilized within cone crushers. Our processing capabilities cover a module range of 12–36 mm and a diameter range of 200–1700 mm. Depending on specific shapes and requirements, the large ring gears are either cast or forged from medium-carbon steel (e.g., 40Cr, 42CrMo, 34CrNiMo6) and subsequently undergo medium-frequency induction hardening. The small pinions are forged from low-carbon steel (e.g., 20CrMnTi, 20CrMnMo, 17CrNiMo6) and undergo carburizing and quenching treatments.
