GK Series Hydraulic Rod Ends
GK..DO series hydraulic rod ends with cylindrical section welding shank, steel/steel construction, requiring maintenance. Rod end with welding shank consists of a rod end housing and a radial spherical plain bearing (GE...E or GE...ES). The rod end housing is manufactured from weldable steel, featuring a dowel pin in the shank bottom and welding chamfer. This design allows for convenient relubrication via a nipple or hole.

Usage Instructions
1. Safety & Preparation
- Wear appropriate PPE (safety glasses, gloves, welding helmet)
- Clean all parts thoroughly before installation
- Ensure bearing moves freely without obstruction
- Identify the dowel pin on shank bottom
- Drill matching hole in mounting plate for pin alignment
2. Welding Procedure
- Use standard arc welding (MIG/TIG recommended)
Critical: Prevent bearing heat damage during welding
- Use a heat sink near the bearing area
- Weld in short, staggered segments and allow cooling between passes
- Avoid continuous welding around the circumference
- Fill the welding chamfer completely for optimal strength
3. Post-Weld Procedures
- Allow to cool naturally - do not quench
- Inspect weld quality and integrity
- Verify bearing still moves freely without binding
- Relubricate immediately (for types with nipple/hole)
- Install linkage bolt through bearing inner ring and secure properly
Buyer's Guide
Choose the Correct Series
- GE...E / GE...ES: General industrial linkages
- E: Steel-on-steel, requires relubrication. Higher load capacity
- ES: Coated surface, often maintenance-free operation
- GK Series: Use specifically for hydraulic cylinder connections
- Heavy-duty construction for high shock loads
- Enhanced seals for harsh industrial environments
Key Specifications to Verify
- Size compatibility (bolt bore, housing diameter)
- Static Load Rating (C0) - Most critical parameter for welded ends
- Angular misalignment capability
- Shank dimensions and chamfer specifications
Material & Environmental Considerations
- Housing/shank material: Weldable steel construction
- Seal type (standard rubber or specialty materials)
- Lubrication temperature operating range
