What are the Types of Cast Elbow?
The SMLSCO cast elbow series offers various forms to meet different pipeline layout requirements. In addition to the 90 ° elbows used for standard right angle turns and the 45 ° elbows used for gentle turns, we also offer Street Elbows with internal and external threads. One end of the internal and external thread elbow is internal thread and the other end is external thread, which can be directly connected to another internal thread pipe without the need for pipe joints, effectively saving installation space and connection points. It is an ideal choice for compact layouts.

Introduction to Thread Types
Threaded fittings mainly follow two international thread systems: NPT and BSP. The profile angle of NPT (American standard pipe taper thread) is 60 °, and it is sealed by the taper of the thread itself (1:16). The profile angle of BSP (British Standard Pipe Thread) is 55 °, divided into taper thread (BSPT) and parallel thread (BSPP) for sealing. This elbow adopts NPT thread, which is the most common connection form in North America and general industrial fields.

Application for 304 Casting Elbow
The Class 150 cast threaded elbow is an ideal solution for low-pressure fluid delivery systems. Material and Standard
According to ASTM A351 standard, the casting grade of 304 stainless steel is CF8. Although there is a slight difference in chemical composition between the two, it is widely accepted in the industry to use materials labeled as "304" instead of CF8 under common operating conditions. Similarly, although our product dimensions are based on international standards such as ISO 4144, they are mainly produced according to widely accepted general specifications in the industry. When customers mention these standards, our products usually meet their usage requirements.

SMLSCO Casting Fitting Manufacturing Process
Our cast pipe fittings are produced using precision casting (silica sol process) to achieve excellent dimensional accuracy and surface smoothness. The process first involves making wax molds, wrapping multiple layers of refractory materials on the surface of the wax mold to form a ceramic shell, and then heating the wax mold to melt and flow out. Next, pour the melted stainless steel into the hollow shell. After the molten steel cools and solidifies, the shell can be crushed to obtain high-precision pipe blanks, which are then processed through machining, tapping, and other processes to become the final product.
