What is Cast Elbow Types?
Our cast elbow series offers various forms to accommodate different pipeline layout requirements. In addition to 90° elbows for standard right-angle turns and 45° elbows for gentle turns, we also provide street elbows. Street elbows have internal threads on one end and external threads on the other, allowing them to be directly connected to another internal threaded pipe fitting without the need for a pipe union, effectively saving installation space and connection points. They are ideal for compact layouts.
Introduction to Threaded Connection Method
Threaded connection is the core feature of this elbow, specifically designed for medium and low-pressure systems. It allows for quick installation and disassembly without welding, greatly enhancing the convenience of construction and maintenance. This elbow adopts NPT (National Pipe Thread) with a thread angle of 60° and a taper, forming an effective mechanical seal when tightened. This makes it one of the most common connection types in general industrial and civil pipelines.
Pressure Rating of Casting Elbow
Class 150, also commonly labeled as 150#, is the standard pressure rating for this series of stainless steel cast fittings. This rating is specifically designed for low-pressure applications, such as in water, air, oil, gas, and drainage systems, where the working pressure is typically at a medium to low level. The Class 150 pound class provides a safe and reliable performance standard for general industrial and commercial piping, offering a highly cost-effective solution for non-critical pipelines.
Material Properties of 304/CF8
304 stainless steel (with its casting designation CF8) is the most widely used and cost-effective stainless steel grade. It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in water, air, and various weakly corrosive media, effectively preventing rust and ensuring the cleanliness of fluid media. Its superior mechanical properties and ease of processing make it an ideal material for manufacturing low-pressure pipe fittings in fields such as plumbing and general chemical engineering, combining reliability with economy.
