Cold-rolled silicon steel sheets have better magnetic properties, surface quality, fill factor and punching properties than hot-rolled silicon steel sheets and can be produced in coils, so some countries have stopped producing hot-rolled silicon steel sheets since the 1960s. China uses hot-rolling at a low temperature of about 900 ° C for one time and hot-rolled annealing under the protection of hydrogen to produce hot-rolled silicon steel sheets, which has a high yield rate and good surface quality and magnetic properties.
