The laser keymat switches, also known as the laser keyway, is coated with color ink on its surface by spraying or screen-printing, and the led backlight is laser cut to form the legend or background of the keyway.Translucent silicone rubber materials of various colors are used.

NOTES:

Generally, the use of transparent silicone rubber to customize the laser keyway switch is better than using ordinary translucent silicone materials.

Internal and surface colors are generally large color contrasts.

If the internal plating color is white, the surface color is usually black; if the internal translucent silicone keyboard has a gray or black keyboard, the keyboard cannot display laser-marked characters without a backlight.

Laser Keymat Switch, desired character, pattern or top surface background color is decided by first spraying coated ink color. Second spraying coated ink color generally choose black or grey for light absorption. The last spray coating ink color is keypad's surface color. After finished basic compression transparent elastomer rubber keypads production, the laser etched keypads are sprayed opaque coating.

First processing coated color (inner color) is same to the desired legends color, and the second processing coating color which is keypad surface colors.

After finished the laser keypads coating, puting the keyboards into the laser cutter machine for laser etched process.

Laser Keymat Switches Cover for protecting keypad surface, generally choose PU coating, Epoxy Coating, Matte Smooth or transparent Plastic Keycap.

Spraying color coating too thin, or poor spraying technology lead to light leak.

Spraying color coating too thick will affect button tactile.

Generally silicone rubber laser keypad actuation force is big (about 150-300grams), and tolerance is large (about +/-50grams)
