Floating Fender For Boat With Fabric Net And Fastening Ropes Yokohama Fender Price
ISO 17357 Certificated Yokohama Type Floating Pneumatic Rubber Fenders
Floating Ship Yokohama Type Marine Pneumatic Rubber Fenders are made of synthetic-cord-reinforced rubber sheets with compressed air inside to enable them to float on water and function as shock absorbers between ships (ship-to-ship) or between ships and berthing structures.
Note: The floating ship pneumatic rubber fenders have sometimes been colloquially referred to as "Yokohama Fenders" or "Yokohama type fenders" - ISO 17357:2014 Ships and marine technology -- Floating Pneumatic Rubber Fenders
Advantages of Yokohama Pneumatic Rubber Fenders
- Lightweight design allows for easy handling and installation with guy-ropes or guy-chains
- Resists shearing force and maintains energy absorption under inclined compression up to 15 degrees
- Provides low and comparatively even hull pressure
- Constructed with multiple synthetic-cord layers and tough abrasion-resistant rubber for consistent performance in rough conditions
- Minimizes maintenance costs and damage risk
- Self-buoyant design ensures extremely long service life
Yokohama Type Pneumatic Rubber Fenders Construction
Pneumatic rubber marine fenders consist of outer rubber, reinforcement synthetic-tire-cord layer, and inner rubber, vulcanized firmly. Fenders of diameter 2500mm and larger are equipped with safety valves to release excess internal pressure when over-compressed. The properties requirements of outer and inner rubber material comply with ISO 17357:2002.
Outer Rubber
The out rubber are used to protect the cord layers and inner rubber. This rubber compound have sufficient tensile and tear resistance strength to withstand anticipated weather conditions and severe usage.
Tire Cord Layers
The reinforcement synthetic-tire-cord layer is strong enough to maintain the internal air pressure of the fender.
Inner Rubber
The inner rubber layer seals the pressurized air inside the fender.
Pneumatic Rubber Marine Fenders Classification
Initial Internal Pressure:
- Pneumatic fender 50 (initial internal pressure 50 KPa)
- Pneumatic fender 80 (initial internal pressure 80 KPa)

Pneumatic Rubber Fenders Application
Floating pneumatic marine ship rubber fenders serve as protective medium for:
- Ship-to-ship operations (STS)
- Ship-to-quay (STQ)
- Ship-to-berthing (STB)
Suitable for various vessels including:
- Tankers, Gas Carriers and Bulk Cargo Ships
- Fast ferries and aluminum hulled vessels
- Temporary or permanent installations
- Rapid response and emergency rendering
- Stand-off fenders to realign ships with shore facilities
Floating Pneumatic Rubber Fender Performance
Performance is specified in terms of Guaranteed Energy Absorption (GEA), Reaction Force at GEA deflection, and Hull Pressure at GEA deflection.
