Description

What is Semen Persicae Extract?

Peach kernel, a traditional Chinese medicine, is the dried, mature seed of *Prunus persica* (L.) Batsch or *Prunus davidiana* (Carr.) Franch., both belonging to the Rosaceae family.


The core active ingredients of peach kernel extract mainly include amygdalin, fatty oil (rich in unsaturated fatty acids), and specific proteins. It also contains volatile oils, enzymes, and phenolic acids.


Main Active Ingredients:

Amygdalin: Approximately 15% of the extract, it is the most characteristic glycoside of peach kernel.


Fat Oil: Contains 30%-50% of the extract, primarily unsaturated fatty acids such as trioleic acid esters and trioleinic acid esters.


Specific Proteins: Includes two protein components: PR-A and PR-B.


Other ingredients: Contains small amounts of amygdalin (which catalyzes the hydrolysis of amygdalin), volatile oils, phenolic acids such as chlorogenic acid, allantoinase, and vitamin B1, etc.


Application


Promotes blood circulation and removes blood stasis, improving microcirculation: It can inhibit platelet aggregation, reduce blood viscosity, and dilate peripheral blood vessels.


Promotes bowel movement: Rich in oils (approximately 45%), it can lubricate the intestinal mucosa and stimulate intestinal peristalsis.


Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant: It inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators (such as prostaglandins and IL-6); it scavenge free radicals and protects vascular endothelium and cells from oxidative damage.
