Boiler steel plate P265GH is the workhorse pressure vessel grade of the European standard EN 10028-2, specified for boilers, pressure vessels and heat exchangers that operate at elevated temperature. The grade name reveals its promise: the minimum yield strength of 265 megapascals in thin sections and the guaranteed elevated temperature properties that allow designers to calculate wall thickness safely at operating temperatures up to about 400 degrees Celsius. Our plates are delivered in the normalized condition so that the ferrite pearlite microstructure is uniform through the thickness, which gives the toughness and weldability that pressure vessel fabricators and notified bodies expect.

Every P265GH plate we supply is traceable to its cast and heat treatment lot. Chemical composition is controlled to keep carbon low for good weldability while retaining strength, and each plate is impact tested at minus twenty degrees Celsius so that vessels operating outdoors in cold climates meet their design requirements. For European projects we provide EN 10204 type 3.1 certificates, and type 3.2 certification with inspection by an independent body can be arranged when your contract demands it. Plates can also be delivered with ultrasonic testing to EN 10160 and with edge preparation such as beveling and machining of cut edges, reducing work in your fabrication shop.

Boiler steel plate P265GH is formed and welded into fire tube and water tube boiler shells, steam drums, feed water tanks, compressed air receivers, hot water storage vessels, heat exchanger shells and channels, separators, accumulators and process columns in the oil, gas, chemical and energy industries. Boilermakers, pressure vessel fabricators and EPC contractors buy the plate for new builds and for repair sections of aging equipment. The grade is also used for pipe flanges and rolled shells where the fabricator prefers to source plate and form it rather than buy seamless pipe of the same specification.

Plates are transported on steel skids with protective edge covers and waterproof wrapping, and heavy gauges are fitted with lifting lugs for safe handling in the vessel shop. Documentation delivered with each shipment includes the EN 10204 3.1 mill certificate, heat treatment records, dimensional inspection report and surface inspection report.
