Chain-Link fabric is available in 3 selvedge finishes:

1. Knuckle - Knuckle (KK)
   The wire is knuckled at both ends and is abbreviated as (KK)
2. Knuckle - Barbed (KB)
   The wire is knuckled at the bottom and twisted into a barbed selvedge at the top and is abbreviated as (KB)
3. Barbed - Barbed (BB)
   The wire is twisted into a barbed selvedge at both ends and is abbreviated as (BB)

Light Duty 2.50mm v Heavy Duty 3.15mm Chain-link Fabric

Chain-link fabric made from Light Duty 2.50mm dia. wire is only recommended for Light-Duty applications or temporary fencing, whereas chain-link fabric made from Heavy-Duty 3.15mm dia. wire is highly recommended for use in more durable applications such as; Security, Industrial, Schools and Sports fencing & gates.

Light Duty 2.50mm dia. chain-link fabric provides only 60% of the load-bearing capacity versus chain-Link fabric made from Heavy-Duty 3.15mm dia. wire. This makes Heavy-Duty 3.15mm chain-link fabric a far more durable option, which is more resistant to impact damage and therefore provides a greater product life expectancy.

• Extra Heavy Duty: is manufactured from 4.00mm dia. wire and is used in more durable applications.
  e.g. High Security and Heavy Industrial.
  *Extra Heavy 4.00mm diameter chain-link fabric is only available in a 50mm pitch diamond

Standard Diamond (Pitch) Sizes (mm):

*The pitch is measured diagonally across the diamond and is only a nominal measurement. According to AS2423 there is an allowable tolerance of +/- 4mm in the pitch size.

• 60mm pitch: has the least amount of wire per m2 out of the 6 no. available diamond pitch sizes and is normally used for budget fencing applications, such as temporary fencing.
• 50mm pitch: is the standard pitch size for chain-link fabric and is used in most applications.
• 45mm pitch: is used for Tennis Courts as the aperture is small enough so the ball won't get stuck in the chain-link fabric.
• 40mm pitch: is used in heavier duty applications such as at the rear of cricket practice nets and ball screen fences.
• 32mm pitch: is used primarily in golfing applications as the aperture is small enough so the golf ball won't pass through the chain-link fabric.
• 25mm pitch: is used primarily for window screens.
