Pharma Grade Carbomer 940 Gel Dissolved In Water For Sensitive Skin Care

Basic product information:

  • Carbomer 940 is a white and loose powder. It has short rheological properties, high viscosity, high transparency, low ionic resistance and low shear resistance.
  • It can effectively thicken in all types of solutions. It is suitable for thickening, suspending and emulsifying in the formulas of cosmetics or medicines.

Product Indicators:

1. Appearance

  • Fluffy, moisture-prone white powder.
  • It has a slight odor. The pH value of 1% dispersed in water is 3.

2. Solubility

  • When dissolved in water, alcohol or glycerol, it can be neutralized with alkaline solutions of hydroxides or amines.

3. Identification methods

  • When the dispersion is neutralized, it will transform into a gel-like substance.
  • When a 1% concentration dispersion is taken and reacted with thymol blue solution, the mixture will turn orange.
  • When the same 1% concentration dispersion is used, after reacting with cresol red solution, the mixture will turn yellow.

4. Viscosity

  • (0.5% aqueous solution) 40,000-60,000mPas

5. Dehydration weight loss rate

  • (At 80℃ for 1 hour) ≤2.0%

6. Heavy Metals

  • 0.002% or less

7. Benzene content

  • 0.5% or less

8. Content of carboxylic acid groups

  • 56.0% - 68.0%

Notes:

  1. Suggested dosage: 0.2-1.5%.
  2. Usage suggestion: After carbomer is completely dissolved in water, alkaline substances such as triethanolamine and sodium hydroxide need to be added for neutralization to achieve good results.
