Description

1650mm Reach 20kg Payload Collaborative Robot Arm for Heavy Part Handling

This 1650mm reach 20kg payload collaborative robot arm is the largest model in the i-Series and replaces small industrial robots in cells that also need human access. A 20 kg rated payload, 1650 mm working radius and 63.7 kg body give a one to three payload to weight ratio, so heavy billets, castings and battery modules move without a counterbalance or a gantry.

Reach of 1650 mm covers two pallet positions and a long conveyor run from a single floor plate, and 0.05 mm repeatability is sufficient for heavy part pick and place, machine load and unload, and large fixture handling. Joint speed on the first two axes is set to 110 degrees per second for inertia control, while the wrist turns at 178 degrees per second so the part attitude is set before the slow axis finishes its move.

A 260 mm base circle and 63.7 kg body keep the structure rigid under a 20 kg load, and the arm accepts any mounting angle for overhead or inclined installation. The same safety and approval package as the rest of the series applies: ISO 13849 PL d Cat. 3, CE, NRTL, KCs, CR, SEMI S2, RoHS and an ISO Class 4 cleanroom rating, with 1000 W average and 3000 W peak power drawn from a 115 or 230 V single phase supply.

Advantages

  • 20kg payload: moves castings, billets, battery modules and heavy fixtures without a counterbalance.
  • 1650mm working radius: one floor plate covers two pallet positions plus a conveyor run, removing long slides.
  • One to three payload to weight ratio: a 63.7 kg arm carries 20 kg, so site transport and mounting stay manageable.
  • Inertia controlled axes: 110 degrees per second on the first two joints keeps a heavy part stable during acceleration.
  • 0.05mm repeatability: reliable engagement for machine loading and heavy fixture placement.
  • Rigid 260mm base: resists the reaction torque of a 20 kg load at full extension.
  • Certified collaboration: ISO 13849 PL d Cat. 3 lets operators enter the cell for inspection without a full fence.
  • Series commonality: same controller, teach pendant and SDK, so training and spares are shared across the fleet.

Applications

  • Heavy part handling: castings, billets, forgings and machined blocks
  • Machine loading and unloading for large CNC and forming equipment
  • Battery module and pack transfer in new energy production
  • Heavy palletizing where cartons exceed 15 kg
  • Foundry and die casting part removal with heat resistant tooling
  • Metal fabrication: plate handling and weldment transfer
  • Logistics and warehouse heavy tote handling
  • Large fixture and tool change support on machining centres

FAQ

Q: What can a 20kg payload collaborative robot arm lift in practice?

A: A 20 kg rated payload includes the end effector, so a 4 kg gripper leaves 16 kg of part weight at the flange. Weight should also be checked against the centre of gravity offset, because a part held far from the flange reduces the allowable mass.

Q: Why is this collaborative robot arm a better fit than a small industrial robot?

A: It provides a 1650 mm radius and 20 kg payload with certified collaborative safety, so operators can enter the cell without a full fence. A conventional industrial robot with the same envelope usually requires fencing and a larger foundation.

Q: How is stability maintained at full reach with a heavy part?

A: The first two axes are limited to 110 degrees per second so acceleration stays within the inertia budget, and the 260 mm base circle with a 63.7 kg body absorbs the reaction torque. Motion profiles are tuned at commissioning with the actual tool weight.

Q: Which power supply does the arm need?

A: A single phase 115 or 230 V, 50 or 60 Hz supply, with 1000 W average and 3000 W peak consumption. The controller includes a 5 m power cable and a 5 m arm cable, with cable lengths customisable up to 8 m.

Q: Can the arm be mounted overhead or on an incline?

A: Yes. The base accepts floor, wall, ceiling and inclined mounting. Joints 2 to 5 are software limited to plus or minus 175 degrees in the standard configuration, and joints 4 and 5 can be unlocked to full rotation on request.

Q: What are the delivery and payment terms?

A: Minimum order one piece, stock in 3 working days, configured systems in 15 to 25 days. Payment by T/T, L/C or Western Union, FOB or CIF terms, calibration and safety test reports included with a 12 month warranty.

Q: How do I request a quotation?

A: Send your part weight, cycle requirement, fixture layout and plant voltage. Our engineers confirm the payload and centre of gravity margin, propose the end effector and mounting arrangement, and return a price, lead time and integration drawing for this 20 kg collaborative robot arm.
