5560A Multi-Product Calibrator Tested Functions and Calibration Support for Accurate Results
Fluke 5560A High Performance Multi-product Calibrator
The Fluke 5560A is a high-performance multi-product calibrator that represents a new class of calibrators. It offers the broadest electrical workload coverage and the highest accuracy, meeting the calibration needs of the most demanding modern workloads. This easy-to-learn and use multifunctional tool is ideal for electrical calibration laboratories.
Fluke Calibration engineers developed multiple new technologies that make the 5560A, 5550A, and 5540A powerful multi-functional tools in the electrical calibration laboratory, while remaining delightfully easy to learn and use.
Key Features
- 30 A Class D Transconductance Amplifier: Provides continuous current output with no duty cycle, reducing wait time during heavy usage. Unlike other calibrators that require cooling periods, the 5560A enables calibration of modern benchtop multimeters and clamp meters with less wait time and better throughput.
- Visual Connection Management™ Connection Terminals: Output terminals light up to show which terminals are active, guiding users to make correct connections. Green indicates voltage, blue indicates current.
- Output Block Design: Re-mapped output terminals match standard digital multimeter layouts, enabling calibration with minimal lead changes. All terminals are dedicated, with guard terminal moved to the side for efficient meter calibration.
- AUTOCAL DMM Lead Set (Optional): For labs with large digital multimeter workloads, this adapter plugs directly into calibrator output terminals, minimizing or eliminating lead changes to increase throughput and reduce user error.
- Intuitive User Interface: 17.8 cm (7-inch) graphical touchscreen with intuitive menus, color-coded fields, and status indicators. Available in nine languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Korean.
Performance Improvements
- 1000 V Direct Amplifier: Reduces transformer use for high AC voltages, reducing size and weight while extending frequency range down to 3 Hz for broader workload coverage.
- Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) Linearity Design: Independent of switch resistance to reduce errors and improve accuracy for calibrating 6.5-digit multimeters.
- New Synthesized Impedance Technology: Electronically simulates inductance with wider range selection instead of preset values.
- Improved Thermocouple Input/Output Design: Reduces settling time and measures wide variety of thermocouples with different connector types or bare wires.
- Cable-free System Architecture: Removes most internal cables from motherboard for easier repair and features independent AC power supply to eliminate noise.
- On-board Oversized Circuit: Provides thermal isolation on PCB to maintain stable internal temperature for better test control.
- Oscilloscope Calibration: Optional calibration capability with accurate RF voltage source, fast edge, DC and LF electrical functions, markers, and frequencies over 1 GHz range.
- Improved Internal Digital Communication: Uses Ethernet technology for robust, stable internal communications resistant to electrostatic discharge.
- Common Instrument Architecture: Application layer common for all new Fluke Calibration products, reducing training time with consistent interface and operating procedures.
