Description

Food-grade FRP tanks are pivotal in liquid and gas filtration, boasting a robust structure with four core components: shell, filter media, inlets/outlets, and seals. Crafted from food-safe materials, these tanks excel in purity-critical scenarios like food processing and beverage production.


The FRP shell offers superior durability compared to stainless steel or plastic, resisting corrosion while meeting strict food safety standards. Its thickness adapts to pressure requirements, with high-pressure models featuring reinforced walls. A notable application is a dairy factory that deployed φ500×1750mm food-grade FRP tanks with top&bottom 4” threaded openings. These tanks, handling 4.5-6.0 T/H, filtered raw milk through a multi-layer system: stainless steel mesh (removing debris), quartz sand (trapping sediments), and activated carbon (absorbing odors). This setup reduced bacterial counts by 98%, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.


Filter media varies by purpose: activated carbon targets organic compounds, PP cotton captures micro-solids, and ceramic filters trap 0.1μm+ particles. Multi-layer configurations enhance efficiency, while reverse-wash ports simplify maintenance—flushing impurities without disassembling the tank.


Inlet/outlet design optimizes filtration: vertical tanks use top-in, bottom-out flow for full media contact; horizontal ones employ Z-shaped paths to extend contact time. Seals, made from food-grade silicone, prevent leaks that compromise purity.
