what is the Fuel Float?

A fuel float is a buoyant component in a vehicle's fuel tank that moves up and down with the fuel level to help the fuel gauge accurately measure the amount of gas.

Where is the fuel float located?

This is located in the fuel tank, it is operated by a float valve switch. It floats on top of the fuel and provides a relative time delayed reading of the amount of fuel in the tank. The delay is to keep the gauge relatively accurate or it would move wildly as the fuel level changes frequently when driving.
