Oil Drilling Raw Material Chemicals Calcium Chloride Anhydrous Pellets 94% Min
What is calcium chloride?
Calcium chloride, a salt composed of chlorine and calcium elements with the chemical formula CaCl₂. It appears as colorless cubic crystals, white or grayish white, in forms of granules, honeycomb blocks, balls, irregular granules, or powders. Slightly toxic, odorless, and with a slightly bitter taste, it is a typical ionic halide and appears as a white solid at room temperature.
Highly hygroscopic and prone to deliquescence when exposed to air. Easily soluble in water while emitting significant heat, resulting in a slightly alkaline aqueous solution. Also soluble in alcohol and acetic acid. Reacts with ammonia or ethanol to generate CaCl₂·8NH₃ and CaCl₂·4C₂H₅OH, respectively.
