Radar measurement: Measuring Principle
Radar level meter works with high-frequency radar pulses which are emitted by an antenna and reflected from the medium surface due to a change of the dc value (relative dielectric constant). The Time-of-Flight of the reflected radar pulse is directly proportional to the distance traveled. If the tank geometry is known, the level can be calculated from this variable.

The Radar Level Meter can realize continuous level measurement of solids and liquids. This DTS-RD-85 Radar Level Transmitter is applicable for high silos, segmented containers, containers with mising systems, silos with reforcing struts, mounting close to the vessel vall. Such as Grain Storage, Bran, Fumed silica, Very light fly ash, Plastic powder, Dry wood chips, Cement, Cement silo etc, all these could use DTS-RD-85-A to monitor the level.
