Radar measurement: Measuring Principle
Radar level transmitter works with high-frequency radar pulses which are emitted by an antenna and reflected from the medium surface due to a change of the dc value (relative dielectric constant). The Time-of-Flight of the reflected radar pulse is directly proportional to the distance traveled. If the tank geometry is known, the level can be calculated from this variable.

The DTS radar level meter is operating at 76-81 GHz, which has a maximum measuring range of 120m and a minimum blind zone of 2mm. It supports 4-wire and 2-wire applications. Higher operating frequency and shorter wavelength make it ideal for solid applications, including those with extreme dust and high temperature to + 1200℃. The radar consists of an electronic circuit coupled to a lens antenna and flange for quick and easy positioning
