Industrial-grade ethyl cellulose EC is a high-quality additive and film-forming carrier for solvent-based printing inks. It dissolves rapidly in organic solvents, stably controlling the thixotropy and viscosity of the ink, effectively preventing pigment sedimentation and clumping. It provides excellent leveling properties during printing, resulting in fine lines and clean edges, eliminating defects such as stringing, incomplete printing, and pinholes. It accelerates ink surface drying and complete drying, improving production efficiency. The resulting film is flexible, glossy, abrasion-resistant, alcohol-resistant, and anti-whitening. It exhibits excellent compatibility with various resins, pigments, and additives, and is widely used in screen printing inks, plastic inks, metal printing inks, and signage inks, significantly improving the gloss and durability of printed products and reducing printing defects and losses.

Product Features

Ethyl cellulose EC (CAS 9004-57-3) is a hydrophobic cellulose polymer powder, insoluble in water but readily soluble in organic solvents. It exhibits excellent film-forming and bonding properties and is available in pharmaceutical, food, and electronics industrial grades, categorized by viscosity as N10, N22, N50, and N100. Its main functions include sustained-release and controlled-release, moisture protection, and powder bonding. It is widely used in long-acting pharmaceutical formulations, photovoltaic electronic pastes, coatings and inks, cosmetics and fragrances, and food protective coatings. It is safe, compliant with regulations, and suitable for formulations across multiple industries.
