Customized High Precision SKD61 Sprue Bushing For Plastic Injection Moulds

Sprue bushings are flow path components that allow molten plastic material to be injected from the nozzle of the injection molding machine into the interior of the mold. The bolt-type nozzle is fixed by two bolts to prevent the nozzle from falling off due to injection pressure.

Sprue bushings are often used as grab points in robotic removal of parts, sprues, and runners. This requires the sprue to be rigid enough to resist both robot finger pressure and extraction forces. With conventional steel sprues, this is typically achieved through added cooling time. Our product reduces sprue cool time without requiring other mold modifications, yielding more rigid sprues with reduced cooling times.

The sprue bushing fits into the locating ring and connects to either the main runner opening or directly to the mold cavity. It directs plastic through runners, past the gate, and into the mold cavity. Placement methods include Linear positioning relative to two linear edges, or From Runner Sketch positioning based on runner sketch geometry endpoints.
