Fire Resistance
Although PP sheets are combustible materials by nature, they possess good flame retardancy. When in contact with flames, the fire will not spread continuously as a result of PP boards’ properties. After the fire source is removed, the sheets can self-extinguish within a few seconds, preventing the fire from expanding. They do not release a large amount of toxic smoke when burning, reducing the harm of harmful gases to the human body in case of fire, and meeting the basic requirements for kitchen fire safety. And they can withstand regular high temperatures in kitchens for a long time (80-120℃). When in contact with the bottom of hot pots, kettles or high-temperature areas near gas stoves, they are not prone to softening, deformation or releasing harmful substances.
Oil Resistance
Kitchen panels are prone to being contaminated with stubborn oil stains, sauces, etc. The low surface energy characteristic of PP sheets endows them with excellent oil resistance. Its surface is dense and smooth, so oil stains cannot penetrate into the interior of the sheets. They only adhere to the surface, avoiding dirt hiding inside the sheets and the generation of peculiar smells after long-term use. The sheets can be wiped clean with warm water and a rag easily. Even solidified oil can be easily scraped off and then wiped, reducing the cleaning workload. After repeated contamination and cleaning, no oil residue layer is easily formed on the surface, avoiding yellowing, stickiness and other problems caused by the oxidation of residual oil stains, and keeping the panels clean for a long time.
Other Advantages
Acid and alkali substances commonly found in kitchens, such as vinegar, soy sauce and detergents, will not corrode PP sheets, making them suitable for the complex chemical environment of kitchens. Compared with ceramic and glass panels, PP sheets have higher toughness. If tableware falls and hits them during daily use, they are not easy to break, reducing potential safety hazards. And our PP sheets meeting food standards (such as FDA certification) do not release harmful substances (such as formaldehyde and heavy metals) at room temperature, and will not produce peculiar smells due to contact with food or heating, ensuring food safety. In the humid environment of kitchens, PP sheets do not absorb water or get moldy. This avoids problems such as mildew and deformation of traditional wooden panels due to moisture, or rusting of metal panels, prolonging their service life.
