Description
SNCR & SCR Flue Gas Denitrification
SNCR (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction)

Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) flue gas denitrification stands as the mainstream denitrification technology widely adopted for fluidized bed boilers, cement kilns, and waste incineration furnaces.

This process works by injecting ammonia water, urea, or other reducing agents into flue gas within the temperature window of 850℃ to 1050℃. Without any catalyst, amine-based reducing agents selectively react with nitrogen oxides (NOx) contained in flue gas and convert pollutants into harmless nitrogen (N₂) and water (H₂O).

Main Chemical Reaction Equations
Using ammonia as reducing agent:
4NH₃ + 4NO + O₂ → 4N₂ + 6H₂O
Using urea as reducing agent:
CO(NH₂)₂ → 2NH₂ + CONH₂ + NO → N₂ + H₂O
2NO + 2CO → N₂ + 2CO₂
Important Note: If the flue gas temperature exceeds the optimal range excessively, ammonia will be oxidized to generate new nitrogen oxides instead:
4NH₃ + 5O₂ → 4NO + 6H₂O

SNCR denitrification technology boasts broad application scenarios, covering cement production, municipal waste incineration, glass furnaces, thermal power plants, cogeneration units, and central heating boilers.

SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction)

The working principle of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) denitrification: Under the action of dedicated catalysts, liquid ammonia serving as the reducing agent chemically reacts with nitrogen oxides in flue gas. Hazardous NOx is converted into eco-friendly nitrogen and water to realize thorough flue gas denitrification.

The term "selective" indicates that ammonia (NH₃) only participates in the reduction reaction with nitrogen oxides rather than reacting with oxygen present in flue gas.
