5D×38mm Acrylic Fiber Raw White Semi-Dull Soft Finish Crimped Synthetic Fiber for Consistent Dyeing Results
Product Description:
Our premium 5 Denier × 38mm Acrylic Fiber is a high-performance synthetic staple fiber designed for superior softness, bulkiness, and textile versatility. Featuring a raw white semi-dull appearance with a soft finish and crimped structure, this fiber is ideal for applications requiring luxurious hand feel, excellent dyeability, and thermal insulation properties.
Acrylic fiber is not grown or found in nature; it is engineered in a chemical plant. The process is called polymerization:
Raw Materials: It starts with fossil fuels, primarily petroleum or coal. Through chemical processes, these are converted into monomers (single molecules) of acrylonitrile.
Creating the Polymer: These acrylonitrile monomers are then combined (polymerized) to form long chains of a polymer called polyacrylonitrile (PAN). This is the base plastic for the fiber.
Spinning into Fiber: The PAN polymer is dissolved in a powerful solvent to create a thick, syrupy solution. This solution is then forced through a spinneret—a device with dozens of tiny holes, like a showerhead. As the streams of solution emerge, they harden into solid filaments of fiber.
Finishing: These continuous filaments are then stretched to increase strength and alignment, washed, dried, and crimped (given a wavy texture) to make them feel more like natural wool. Finally, they are cut into short staple lengths to be spun into yarn.
✔ Optimal Dimensions: 5 Denier thickness × 38mm staple length for balanced strength and processability
✔ Premium Aesthetics: Raw white base with semi-dull luster for consistent dyeing results
✔ Enhanced Comfort: Specially engineered soft finish for skin-friendly applications
✔ Functional Crimp: Permanent 3D crimp improves fiber cohesion and loftiness
✔ Exceptional Thermal Properties: Low thermal conductivity for warmth retention

Acrylic fiber is incredibly versatile and found in many products:
Apparel: Sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves, fleece wear, athleticwear, and linings for boots and jackets.
Home Furnishings: Blankets, upholstery fabrics, carpets, and area rugs. Its durability and colorfastness make it ideal for these uses.
Craft Yarn: It is the most popular type of yarn for knitting and crocheting due to its affordability, wide color selection, and easy care.
Industrial Uses: Used in awning fabrics, vehicle covers, and as a precursor for manufacturing carbon fiber.
Washing: Typically machine washable in cool or warm water. Use a gentle cycle.
Drying: Tumble dry on low heat. High heat can cause melting, stretching, or permanent wrinkling.
Ironing: If needed, use a very cool iron with a press cloth. Never use a hot iron directly on acrylic fabric.
Storage: Resistant to moths, so no special storage is needed.
