Heavy-Duty HDPE Pipe Floaters for Dredging & Offshore Pipelines
Product Description:
Our heavy-duty HDPE Pipe Floater combines a rotationally molded HDPE outer shell with closed-cell polyurethane (PU) foam core, delivering 150–6500 kg net buoyancy per unit, designed for DN 110–1150 mm pipes. Engineered for saltwater corrosion resistance, UV stability, and >15-year service life, these split-collar floaters are ideal for dredging, offshore slurry, and wastewater outfall pipelines. Optional hot-dip galvanized steel bolts ensure secure, adjustable mounting on HDPE, steel, and rubber hose lines in rivers, harbors, and open seas.
Key advantages:
- Zero rust, no painting, no electrolytic corrosion against steel pipes
- Near-zero water absorption vs. EPS foam that saturates and sinks
- UV-stabilized HDPE avoids cracking and brittleness in tropical sun
- Modular design: add/remove units to fine-tune buoyancy mid-project
Core Functions:
- High Buoyancy & Pipeline Positioning
Each floater delivers net buoyancy from ~150 kg to 6500 kg, lifting submerged pipe weight plus heavy slurry/water content. Proper spacing keeps the pipeline at target freeboard , preventing sagging, seabed contact, and excessive bending stress at joints.
- Impact & Corrosion Protection
The HDPE shell absorbs collisions from debris, vessel fenders, and rocks, shielding the pipeline. Non-metallic construction eliminates galvanic corrosion in saltwater, extending both floater and pipe service life.
- Reduced Joint Stress & Leak Risk
Evenly distributed buoyancy minimizes tension at flanges, couplings, and welds, especially critical in dynamic wave/current zones. Less flexure means fewer leaks and longer pump runtime.
- Visibility & Navigation Safety
Bright orange/yellow shells make pipelines clearly visible for workboats and patrol vessels, reducing strike risks day and night.
