3. Mastic Filler: In areas with protrusions, welds, or other irregularities, a mastic filler may be applied before wrapping the tape. The mastic filler helps to provide additional protection and ensure a smooth surface for the tape application.

4. Overwrapping: After the initial layer of petrolatum tape is applied, an additional layer of PVC or polyethylene tape may be applied as an overwrap. This overwrap provides added mechanical protection and enhances the overall durability of the corrosion protection system.
