► Display Assembly

The Display assembly contains the:

• LCD monitor: Flat panel color monitor with 640 x 480 pixels, illuminated by cold cathode fluorescent lamps.

• Backlight converter: Power for the display backlight comes from the PCA, the backlight converter.

■ LCD display

All display functions are handled by the PCA processor. Display formats, images, waveforms, values, and messages are generated and formatted by the PCA processor using data it has or receives from other parts of the device. The LCD display takes this digital data from the processor and converts it into pixels on the screen.

■ Backlight inverter

The display also has a backlight, which is powered by the PCA backlight converter. The PCA backlight converter converts DC power from the system power supply to high voltage AC power. The PCA backlight inverter is part of the display.

► Display Problems

Display completely dim. No response - all light or all dark.

• Failure of backlight. • Display failure.

• No power supply or power supply failure

• Check cable between Processor PCA and inverter.

• Check display and backlight connections.

• Replace Display assembly.

• Replace Power PCA (only if display is all dark).

• Replace Processor PCA.
Left or right half of display is dim or display is not uniformly bright.

• Backlight cable disconnected from inverter PCA.

• Backlight bulb failure

 • Reseat the connector • Replace Display assembly.
Fails Display Test in Operational Check. (Display problem other then symptoms above).

• Processor PCA failure

• Replace Display assembly.

• Replace Processor PCA.
