Mode Conditioning Technology
This duplex multimode fiber optic patch cord incorporates a specialized section of single-mode fiber at the transmission start point. The laser signal is launched into the single-mode fiber section, which then couples to the multimode section with core offset alignment for optimal signal transmission.
Mode conditioning patch cords are typically deployed in pairs, with one cord required at each end to connect equipment to the cable plant infrastructure.
Important Note: These patch cords convert single-mode to multimode only. For multimode to single-mode conversion, a media converter is required. Mode conditioning cables operate in the 1300nm/1310nm wavelength window and are not suitable for 850nm applications such as 1000Base-SX.
