Classification and application segmentation of paper rolls
Classified by purpose:
Hot drink cup paper roll: Typically, higher weight (such as 190-350gsm) base paper is used, and the PE coating amount is also higher (about 15-20gsm on both sides) to ensure sufficient stiffness and resistance to hot drink penetration.
Cold drink cup paper roll: The weight and PE coating amount can be slightly lower because it does not need to resist high temperatures. But it also requires anti condensation water (outer wall of the cup) and leak prevention.
Ice cream cup paper roll: requires excellent oil resistance because ice cream contains fat. Sometimes more special coatings are used.
Waimai food box paper roll: used to make paper bowls, food boxes, etc., requiring higher stiffness and oil resistance to carry solid and liquid food.
Classified by coating material:
Single sided PE paper roll: coated with PE only on one side of the paper, usually used for dry food packaging that does not require leakage prevention, or as a cup cover.
Double sided PE paper roll: the most common paper cup material, both inside and outside are leak proof.
PLA paper roll: the raw material for "bio based" compostable paper cups.
Fluorine free oil resistant paper roll: Through special treatment (such as water-based coating), the paper has oil resistant properties and does not contain harmful substances such as PFAS (perfluorinated and polyfluorinated compounds), making it more environmentally friendly.
