The coating process is a continuous automated production process.
unwinding
The large roll of food grade base paper is placed on the unwinding rack.
preheat
The paper is preheated by a roller to remove surface moisture and raise the temperature of the paper, which helps the plastic melt to adhere better.
Extrusion coating
Core steps. Plastic resin (PE or PLA particles) is added to the extruder.
In the extruder, plastic particles are melted into a viscous flow state through heating and the shearing action of the screw.
Molten plastic is extruded into a uniform thin film through a flat T-shaped die.
This layer of film is directly coated onto the surface of the high-speed passing base paper.
Compression and cooling
The coated paper is immediately passed through a compression device consisting of a cooling steel roller and a rubber roller.
Pressure ensures that the plastic film is tightly bonded to the paper without any bubbles.
The cooling roller rapidly solidifies the molten plastic and firmly adheres to the paper.
collect the papers
The composite material that has been coated is rewound into a large roll, becoming "coated paper".
These large rolls of laminated paper will be transported to the next process for printing, die-cutting (to make fan-shaped sheets), and forming paper cups.
