DS4-SO2-100 Solid-state Polymer Electrochemical Sulfur Dioxide Sensor
Basic Information:
- Brand: EC Sense.
- Sensor Type: Solid-state polymer electrochemical sensor.
- Detectable Gas: Sulfur dioxide (SO₂).
Working Principle:
Adopting a three-electrode design, it utilizes solid-state polymer electrochemical technology. The sensor mainly consists of a working electrode, counter electrode, reference electrode, and solid-state electrolyte. SO₂ gas reaches the working electrode of the sensor through diffusion holes, where an electrochemical oxidation or reduction reaction occurs on the porous micro-surface of the electrode. Protons generated by the reaction migrate to the counter electrode through the polymer electrolyte, producing a current signal proportional to the concentration of the measured gas.
Performance Characteristics:
- Wide Voltage Range: Operates at 3.3V to 12V DC, with 5V DC recommended.
- Wide Temperature Range: Works at -40°C to +55°C without the need for temperature compensation.
- Rapid Response: Quickly detects changes in gas concentration and achieves stable measurement results in a short time for real-time monitoring.
- High Precision and Linearity: Features excellent linearity and high measurement accuracy, enabling accurate measurement of SO₂ gas at different concentrations.
- Long-term Stability: Exhibits minimal zero-point drift and stable signals during long-term use. The anti-poisoning design ensures reliable performance in complex environments.
- Low Power Consumption: Supports a low-power sleep mode, with customizable sleep/wake functions, suitable for IoT and battery-powered applications.
- Compact and Lightweight: Adopts the standard 4-series industrial size, a cylindrical design of 20x16.6mm, facilitating integration into various new or existing products.
- Simple Output: Supports simple UART digital output (3.3V half-duplex single-wire mode), making data collection convenient and easy to integrate with microcontrollers or IoT systems.
- Safe and Reliable: Has intrinsic safety certifications (Ex ia IIC T6 Ga), complies with RoHS standards, and is safe and environmentally friendly.
Technical Parameters:
- Range: Commonly 0-100ppm, with other ranges available.
- Resolution: Up to 0.5ppm or higher; in the 0-5ppm range, the resolution can reach 0.001ppm.
- Sensitivity: At 20°C, the sensitivity is 0.37±0.07μA/ppm.
- Baseline Drift: Within -20°C to 50°C, the baseline drift is less than 0.5ppm.
- Cross-sensitivity: Has certain cross-sensitivities to gases such as hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, hydrogen, and ammonia, but the values are small.
Application Fields:
- Environmental Protection: Used for monitoring ambient air quality, detecting the concentration of SO₂ in the atmosphere, providing data support for environmental protection departments, and assisting in evaluating environmental pollution status and formulating environmental protection policies.
- Industrial Fields: In industries such as metallurgy, power, petrochemicals, and mining, it is used to monitor waste gas emissions during industrial production and the concentration of SO₂ in the production environment to ensure production safety and environmental compliance.
- Flue Gas Desulfurization Systems: Used for the automatic control of flue gas desulfurization processes. By real-time monitoring of SO₂ concentration, it optimizes reaction conditions, improves desulfurization efficiency, and reduces sulfur dioxide emissions.
- Fire Rescue and Emergency Detection: Detects the concentration of SO₂ in the air at fire scenes or other emergency scenarios, providing safety guidance for rescue personnel and ensuring the smooth progress of rescue work.
