Special Metals Inconel 718 Bar Nickel Alloy 718 with Ending Machinability

  Composition and Properties:
Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium alloy that is precipitation hardenable due to significant levels of iron, niobium, and molybdenum, along with lesser amounts of aluminum and titanium. This composition provides a high degree of tensile, fatigue, creep, and rupture strength, coupled with excellent corrosion resistance in a range of environments.

  Mechanical Characteristics:
With a melting point around 1260-1340°C (2300-2440°F), Inconel 718 offers resistivity against post-weld cracking and has the ability to maintain its strength under extreme temperatures, as low as cryogenic levels and as high as 700°C (1300°F). It has excellent relaxation resistance and remains ductile and tough.

  Manufacturing Specifications:
Inconel 718 bars typically adhere to standards such as ASTM B637, which governs the alloy's chemical composition and mechanical properties requirements, as well as its precipitation hardening process.

  Applications:
Due to its resilience and reliable performance, Inconel 718 round bars are often utilized in high-stress applications such as aerospace engine parts, fasteners, and cryogenic tanks, alongside components used in oil and gas drilling and wellhead equipment.

  Physical Characteristics:
As a high-strength material, Inconel 718 can be magnetic and exhibits an excellent surface finish when machined. Bars come in a variety of diameters, which can be custom sized to meet specific demands.

  Availability:
Inconel 718 is widely available and can be procured in custom lengths with a range of surface finishes tailored for specific functional requirements, such as bright annealing or age-hardening treatments to enhance its mechanical properties.

  Notable Features:

   	- High tensile, fatigue, creep, and rupture strength
  	- Outstanding corrosion resistance
  	- Superior weldability compared to other Inconel alloys
