NDT Industrial X-Ray Lead Intensifying Screen

Intensifying Screens are primarily used to intensify the radiographic image. They are generally used in pairs by placing the x-ray film between the bare lead surfaces of the screens. Each screen surface is protected with a semitransparent coating, which must bepeeled off prior to use. For maintaining long-lasting screens it is highly recommended that a cassette be used.

Computer Radiography (CR Imaging Board): The lead Intensifying Screen is used in conjunction with the CR imaging board, and the principle is similar to that of film. It can effectively absorb scattered light, improve the clarity of IP board reading signals, and allow for the use of lower exposure doses.

Digital Flat Panel Detector (DR-FPD): Although the detector itself is sensitive to scattered light, in many cases a front lead screen (placed in front of the detector) is still used to absorb scattered light from the object being inspected and the surrounding environment, making it an important accessory for improving DR image quality. At this point, its filtering effect is mainly utilized rather than its sensitization effect.
