A GFS bolted tank (Glass-Fused-to-Steel bolted tank), also known as an enamel bolted tank or glass-lined steel tank, is a modular liquid storage tank made by fusing a layer of specialized glass to a steel substrate at temperatures exceeding 800°C (1,472°F). The glass and steel bond into one material that has both the strength of steel and the corrosion resistance of glass.
Unlike traditional welded steel tanks that require on-site welding and heavy machinery, GFS tanks are factory-manufactured in precision-cut panels and bolted together on-site using proprietary sealants and high-tensile bolts. This bolted design allows for faster installation and easier expansion, with no on-site welding. It works well for projects in remote locations, on tight schedules, or in regions with limited skilled labor.
