Description:

• The coating performance of automotive paint putty is mainly manifested in filling the surface defects of the painted part and improving the appearance quality of the coating.
• The putty should have good scraping performance. In order to fill the surface defects of the product, it needs to be scraped several times.
• After the first pass of putty is dry and polished, it needs to be scraped again, and it should not be too thick.

PRODUCT USES:

• Use for minor body work and surface imperfections (1/8” thick or less) such as sand scratches, chips, scratches and pinholes.
• Ideal for use as a finish coat over body filler.

Precautions for using putty:

• It is very important to grasp the relationship between the performance of putty and various components in the product and the characteristics of individual coatings.
• This is also an important aspect to correctly choose putty with different properties, adapt to the requirements of the coating, and match the coating.

TYPICAL SUBSTRATES:

• Non-separating formula.
• Smoother texture. Easy to work with.
• Quicker, easier filing.
• Good adhesion to steel, metal, aluminum, fiberglass and wood surfaces.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

1. Clean surface. Remove all dirt, oil, grease and wax with a cleaning solvent such as Grease & Silicone Remover.

2. Make sure surface is dry before repairing.

3. Use 80 – 180 grit disc to featheredge paint for good mechanical adhesion.

DRYING/SANDING TIMES

• Allow the application of filler to cure 20 to 30 minutes.
• Sand with 80 grit sand paper and featheredge with 180 grit sandpaper or finer.
• Wait 1 hour before painting.
• Drying time depends on temperature and amount of hardener used.
• Optional: Apply a very thin layer of MJ-coat Glazing & Spot Putty to fill pinholes or small imperfections if necessary.
