Chilled Cast Iron Rolls for alloy indefinite intermediate stands
- ALLOY INDEFINITE CHILLED CAST IRON ROLLS
It is a kind of cast iron roll with fine intercrystalline graphite evenly distributed throughout its working layer.
It is shaped by Centrifugal Casting Machine, or by gravity casting.
- ◇ In its microstructure, the size, shape and distribution of graphite and carbide are controlled by chilling effect and the contents of alloy elements.
- ◇ The matrix microstructure can be changed from Bearlite, Bainite to Martensite through adding alloy elements such as Manganese, Nickel, Chromium Molybdenum etc.
- ◇ The small amount of fine graphite in its matrix enhances the roll’s resistance to brittle crack, thermal crack and its wearability.
- ◇ The small hardness gradient in roll’s working layer is suitable for usage in intermediate and finishing stands for bar, wire and section mills.
Used in intermediate or finishing stands for bar, wire and section mills.
