Corinthian order:
It may have first appeared in the temple of Zeus on Mount Olympus in Athens, with four sides of the spiral decoration pattern, and surrounded by two rows of leaf ornaments, especially the pursuit of fine symmetry, looks very gorgeous and slender. Corinthian Order is of slimmer proportions than Ionian columns. The capitals are decorated with Acanthus leaves, resembling a basket of flowers. Corinthian columns are more decorative than ionic columns, but they were not widely used in ancient Greece. The Temple of Zeus in Athens used Corinthian columns.
The Romans inherited the Greek column and modified it, perfecting the Corinthian column, which was widely used to build large, ornate buildings, and created a hybrid column with an Ionic column on top of the Corinthian column. They modified the Greek Doric column and developed the Tuscan column.
