Our ASTM F436 hardened structural washers and beveled Type 3 washers are precision hot-forged and heat treated to deliver dependable load distribution and vibration resistance in high-strength structural steel connections. Available in flat round, clipped, and beveled configurations, they meet the mechanical and dimensional requirements of ASTM F436 / F436M for bolted structural assemblies.

  • ASTM F436 compliant: Manufactured to ASTM F436 / F436M for hardened steel washers used with high strength structural bolts such as ASTM A325 / F3125 Grade A325 and A490.
  • Three washer types: Type 1 carbon steel flat for general structural use; Type 2 weathering steel flat for atmospheric corrosion resistance in exposed steel structures; Type 3 beveled with 1:6 slope for sloped flange and channel surfaces, ensuring uniform bolt preload on inclined faces.
  • Hardened and tempered: Hardness controlled within 38-45 HRC for consistent bearing performance under heavy static and dynamic loads.
  • Multiple finishes: Plain oiled, hot dip galvanized per ASTM F2329, and mechanical zinc plated per ASTM B695 Class 50 to suit indoor and outdoor service conditions. Black oxide available upon factory confirmation.
  • Companion to structural bolts: Designed for use under bolt heads and nuts in structural steel connections to distribute preload and protect connected surfaces.
