High quality tungsten lanthanum electrodes for DC or AC welding, which can prevent thermal shock
Product description
The properties of tungsten make it very suitable for TIG welding and other electrode materials for such work. By adding rare earth oxides such as lanthanum oxide to tungsten metal to stimulate its electron escape function, the welding performance of the resulting tungsten-lanthanum electrode is improved. The tungsten-lanthanum electrode has better arc starting performance, higher stability of the arc column, and less electrode burnout.
Non-melting gas shielded welding (TIG), also known as tungsten arc welding or tungsten inert gas shielded welding, is a gas shielded welding method that uses pure tungsten or activated tungsten electrode and inert gas - argon as the shielding gas.
The commonly used activated tungsten electrodes include lanthanum tungsten electrode, thorium tungsten electrode, cerium tungsten electrode, yttrium tungsten electrode, etc.
The lanthanum tungsten electrode produced by our company is also known as tungsten lanthanum electrode.
Product specifications
Tungsten-lanthanum electrode contains 0.8%-2.2% Lanthanum trioxide ,which is easy to
arc at low current.Mainly used for direct current welding.It also performs well in AC welding.If there is no overload current ,the lifetime of lanthanum-tungsten electrode is longer than that of thorium-tungsten electrode.Especially good at preventing thermal shock.

Production method
Adding lanthanum and yttrium can effectively improve the performance of tungsten electrode, especially the lanthanum tungsten electrode has the characteristics of long life and good arc starting performance
The method of producing lanthanum tungsten electrode includes preparation of lanthanum tungsten cladding powder, reduction, pressing, draping, billet making and finished product processing, characterized in that:
(1)lanthanum acetate is used to prepare lanthanum tungsten cladding powder by mixing well with a slurry made of solid raw materials including ammonium paratungstate, tungsten trioxide and tungsten powder with water;
(2)the decomposition process of lanthanum salt in lanthanum tungsten cladding powder is carried out simultaneously with the reduction process in hydrogen atmosphere, the primary The reduction temperature is controlled at 600-700°C for 2-3 hours, and the secondary reduction temperature is controlled at 800-970°C, with a hydrogen flow rate of 0.5-2.0 m3/h during the process.
