Horizontal Screw Decanter Centrifuge Technical Documentation
1. Product Overview
The horizontal screw decanter centrifuge (commonly referred to as a "decanter centrifuge") is a highly efficient, continuous solid-liquid separation device widely used in municipal wastewater treatment, industrial effluent processing, and sludge dewatering applications. It utilizes high-speed rotation to generate centrifugal forces (typically 2,000–4,000 times gravity) to rapidly separate solids from liquids in suspensions.
Key Advantages
- Continuous Operation: Capable of 24/7 uninterrupted operation with minimal downtime for maintenance
- High Separation Efficiency: Separation factor up to 2,000–4,000 × g, ensuring high throughput and clarity
- Automated Control: Integrated PLC and HMI systems enable remote monitoring and control
- Energy & Resource Efficient: Low power consumption and reduced chemical usage, aligning with sustainability goals

3. Working Principle
The horizontal screw decanter centrifuge operates on the principle of centrifugal sedimentation:
Separation Process:
- Feed Introduction: Suspension enters the rapidly rotating bowl via the feed pipe.
- Centrifugal Separation: Under centrifugal force (typically 3,000–5,000 × g), denser solid particles settle against the bowl wall forming a solid ring, while lighter liquid forms an inner liquid layer.
- Solids Conveying: A scroll conveyor (rotating slightly slower than the bowl due to differential speed) continuously pushes solids toward the conical end of the bowl.
- Discharge:
- Liquid phase exits continuously over adjustable weir plates.
- Solid phase (cake) is discharged continuously through the solids outlet at the cone end.

4. Application Fields
