Most composite panels adopt a sandwich structure, which consists of three key layers:
- Face Sheets
The top and bottom surface layers are usually made of color-coated steel plates, aluminum-magnesium-manganese alloy plates, or stainless steel plates. These materials offer good corrosion resistance, weather resistance, and aesthetic appearance, and can be customized into various colors and textures to meet different architectural design requirements. - Core Material
The middle core layer is the core part that determines the thermal insulation, fire resistance, and mechanical properties of the panel. Common core materials include: - Polyurethane (PU): Excellent thermal insulation performance, low thermal conductivity, and good structural bonding strength; it has a certain flame-retardant effect when processed with flame-retardant additives.
- Polystyrene (EPS/XPS): EPS has a low cost and moderate thermal insulation effect, suitable for general thermal insulation scenarios; XPS has higher density, better compressive strength and moisture resistance, and is applicable to projects with higher requirements.
- Rock Wool/Mineral Wool: Outstanding fire resistance, non-combustible, and good sound insulation performance, suitable for high-fire-risk places such as industrial workshops and high-rise steel structures.
- Bonding Layer
High-strength adhesive is used to firmly bond the face sheets and the core material into an integrated structure, ensuring the overall rigidity and load-bearing capacity of the panel.
