The tension device is a supporting component of the elevator governor system. Its main function is to maintain constant tension on the governor wire rope, ensuring reliable governor activation during elevator overspeed conditions. Typically installed in the hoistway pit, it works in conjunction with the governor sheave, wire rope, and safety gear.

· Constant Tension: Provides continuous and stable tension through counterweights or a spring mechanism, preventing wire rope slack or vibration and ensuring governor sensitivity.

· Rope Break Protection: Features a built-in rope break switch. When the wire rope breaks or becomes excessively slack, the switch activates and cuts off the elevator control circuit, triggering safety protection.

· Adjustable Tension: Designed with adjustable counterweights or spring preload to accommodate different hoistway heights and wire rope specifications.

· Wear-Resistant Sheave: The tension sheave is made of nylon or cast iron with precision-machined grooves, effectively reducing wire rope wear.

· Buffer Limit Design: Equipped with upper and lower limit rubber buffer blocks to prevent the tension frame from accidentally derailing or swinging excessively.

Installation & Service

Install on the pit floor or wall bracket. Ensure the tension sheave is vertically aligned with the governor sheave to prevent uneven rope wear. The switch and travel are calibrated before delivery. Custom travel and anti-jump devices are supported. It is recommended to inspect wire rope tension and switch function every six months.
