How COG Segment LCDs Work
  • Glass Substrate: The display is built on a glass panel containing liquid crystal cells.
  • Integrated Driver: The driver IC is mounted directly on the glass, controlling individual segments and eliminating the need for flexible PCBs or external wiring.
  • Polarization: Liquid crystals align between two polarizing layers, blocking or allowing light passage when voltage is applied.
  • Segment Configuration: Features a matrix of segments that activate to form numbers, letters, or custom symbols.
