Description

Our company's electric direct shear tester is used to determine the shear strength of soil. It features a high-resolution color screen display and intelligent microcomputer control, achieving automation, ease of operation, high accuracy, stable speed, reliable performance, and an attractive appearance. The instrument uses a high-performance servo motor as the drive source, significantly reducing vibration. The electric shearing rate is selectable and can be quickly changed. It is easy to use, durable, and can simultaneously perform shear tests on four samples. It has an automatic stop mechanism upon retraction.

This instrument is mainly used to determine the shear strength of soil. Typically, four soil samples are used. Shear stress at failure was determined by applying horizontal forces under different vertical pressures (400 kPa, 300 kPa, 200 kPa, 100 kPa, and 50 kPa selectable). Then, the shear strength parameters, internal friction angle, and cohesion of the soil were determined according to Coulomb's law.

Key features

The transmission method has been changed from the original DC servo motor to a compact stepper motor; the motor power supply has been changed from the original 220V to a safe 24V voltage; and the lever force point has been improved from the original knife-edge type to a bearing type. This instrument is safer, more sensitive, more compact, more applicable, and quieter than previous versions. Therefore, the use of this instrument lays a good foundation for laboratory automation.
