Product Overview
The Molten Metal Splash Impact Tester is developed in accordance with testing standards EN 348 and ISO 9150. It also meets the requirements of Chinese standards GB 8965.2-2009 (Protective clothing for welders) and GB/T 17599-1998 (Determination of resistance to molten metal splash). The testing principle involves using a welding torch to melt a metal rod; the number of molten metal droplets required to cause a 40°C temperature rise in a calorimeter placed behind the fabric specimen is recorded.

Performance Features
  • The tester comprises a burner, specimen holder, metal rod drive mechanism, burner flow controller, and a human-machine interface (HMI) display unit
  • An oxy-acetylene torch is used to melt the metal rod; the torch nozzle diameter is (1.2 ± 0.1) mm
  • A stepper motor drives the metal rod, with adjustable feed speed
  • A guide mechanism for molten droplets features a high-temperature, non-stick coated guide channel set at a 45-degree angle
  • A temperature sensor assembly measures the temperature rise on the back of the fabric specimen
  • A counterweighted copper hammer applies a pre-tension of 175g ± 0.5g to the fabric
  • Temperature rise data is recorded automatically, while the number of molten droplets is recorded manually by the operator
