Function of the Right Gripper Opener Strip
The right gripper opener strip is a critical component of the
rapier loom weft insertion system. Its main functions are:
- Controls the opening and closing of the right rapier: During weft insertion, it drives the right rapier (gripper) to open and close at the preset timing, ensuring reliable gripping, transfer, and release of the weft yarn.
- Works with the left opener to complete weft yarn transfer: It operates in coordination with the left gripper opener to ensure smooth and stable handover of the weft yarn between the two rapiers, preventing slippage, yarn breakage, or failed transfer.
- Maintains weft insertion accuracy and stability: Matches the loom’s control timing to ensure consistent weft insertion movements, reducing weft defects and improving fabric quality.
