High Purity Graphite Specialties
Main application areas
Special graphite materials are widely used in fields such as semiconductors, solar energy, powder metallurgy, vacuum heat treatment, electronics and electrical engineering. Mainly used for heating components, insulation parts, structural support, and moving parts, etc.
The relationship between resistivity and temperature
One of the characteristics of graphite is its ability to conduct electrical current. When the temperature rises to 400 to 600 ℃, its resistivity significantly decreases, and when it exceeds this temperature range, it slightly increases. The resistivity of graphite can be controlled to meet a wide range of requirements by adjusting the raw materials and manufacturing processes.
The relationship between strength and temperature
The mechanical strength of graphite increases with temperature, and when it rises from room temperature to 2500 ℃, the strength increases by about twice as much as at room temperature. The correlation between flexural strength and compressive strength can be roughly expressed by the following formula:
Compressive strength ≈ 2x flexural strength
Tensile strength ≈ 0.5x flexural strength
