Product Overview

This custom stage stamping die is engineered for forming SUS430 stainless steel sheets used in washing machine drum production. The tooling is developed according to the customer’s approved part drawings, material thickness, press specifications, production volume and dimensional requirements.

With a robust die structure, application-specific tool materials and controlled manufacturing processes, the die is designed to support stable production, consistent part quality and convenient maintenance.

Engineering Features

Tool Materials

Tool materials are selected according to the function of each component rather than applying one material specification to the complete die.

Available materials may include:

  • DC53, SKD11, ASSAB XW-42 or ASP60 for cutting and high-wear components;
  • P20 or other suitable grades for non-cutting structural components;
  • AMPCO 25 or comparable copper alloys for selected wear plates and sliding components.

Final material selection is confirmed during the technical review.

Manufacturing and Treatment Capabilities

Manufacturing processes include:

  • CNC milling;
  • Precision surface grinding;
  • Wire EDM;
  • Sinker EDM;
  • Fitting, assembly and die tryout.

Heat and wear treatments may include hardening, tempering, deep cryogenic treatment and TiCN coating where required.

Surface-finishing options include polishing, mirror polishing and plating for specified components.

Inspection

Inspection equipment may include:

  • Coordinate measuring machine;
  • Optical profile projector;
  • Electronic height gauge;
  • Material spectrometer;
  • Calipers and micrometers;
  • Toolmaker’s microscope.

Dimensional acceptance criteria are established according to the approved die drawings, part drawings and inspection plan.

Performance Notes

The stated cycle time is a reference value. Actual production speed depends on the part geometry, material thickness, press stroke rate, feeding or transfer method, lubrication and automation configuration.

Punch-maintenance intervals also depend on the workpiece material, die clearance, coating, lubrication and operating conditions. Any guaranteed tool life or maintenance interval should therefore be defined in the final technical agreement.

Part tolerances are evaluated against the customer’s drawing. A general tolerance value should not be applied to every feature without a completed feasibility and capability review.
