Photo chemical etching, also known as photo etching or chemical milling, is a precision manufacturing process used to create complex metal components. The process involves several key steps:
Cleaning: The metal coil is thoroughly cleaned to remove any contaminants.
Lamination: A photoresist film is applied to both sides of the metal sheet.
Exposure: A tool with the exact pattern of the filter mesh is used to expose the photoresist to UV light, hardening the desired pattern.
Development: The unexposed (soft) photoresist is washed away, leaving the metal exposed in the areas that need to be etched (the holes).
Etching: The metal is passed through an etching chamber where an etchant solution precisely dissolves the exposed metal, creating the filter holes.
Stripping: The remaining hardened photoresist is removed, revealing the finished, burr-free precision filter mesh.
This process is ideal for filter meshes because it produces absolutely burr-free and stress-free components without altering the material's magnetic or physical properties.
