Chemical etching (also known as photo etching or chemical milling) is a subtractive manufacturing process that uses chemical solutions to selectively remove material from a metal sheet to create precision parts.

Exposure & Development: UV light transfers the pattern onto the film.
Etching: Chemical solution dissolves exposed metal areas.
